The Community Papers of Michigan Story…
A free paper association in the state of Michigan can be traced back to the 1930’s when Michigan Advertising Publishers Association was the state’s association. Since then the association has had several name changes including; “The Shopping Guide of Michigan” in the 1960’s, “Mich-Ad” throughout 1980 and1990, and Community Papers of Michigan from the 1990’s to the present.
Community Papers of Michigan came into existence in its present form in 2002 when Michigan Advertising and Michigan MegaMarket were merged into the association. Today, Community Papers of Michigan has over 120 member publications with circulation of just over 2.4 million.
